Felicity conditions are conventions that speakers and hearers use as a code to produce recognize.
CHARACTERISTICS:
Preparatory: Include the status or authority of the speaker
Sincerity: The participants must have the appropiate thought
Essential: Determinated by the perlocutionary effect of the speech act.
Felicity condition has five categories:
Assertive: The speaker asserts a propositions to be true.
Directives: Are commands and orders. the speaker tries to make the hearer do something.
Commisive: Are promises
Expressives: Are feelings
Declaration: the speaker alters the external status or condition of an object or situation
